Physiotherapy

Building strength, coordination, balance, and physical confidence in children through expert paediatric physiotherapy.

About This Service

What is Paediatric Physiotherapy?

Paediatric physiotherapy focuses on the physical development and movement of children from infancy through to adolescence. Our physiotherapists assess and treat conditions affecting muscles, bones, nerves, and movement — using evidence-based techniques tailored to each child's developmental stage.

"Movement is the foundation of learning. When children move confidently, they explore, engage, and grow in every domain."

At Little Wings, our physiotherapy is hands-on, play-based, and delivered with deep understanding of paediatric development. We work with children who have neurological conditions, musculoskeletal issues, low muscle tone, post-surgical rehabilitation needs, and developmental motor delays.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can children start physiotherapy?+
Physiotherapy can begin from birth. Newborns with torticollis, premature babies, and toddlers with motor delays all benefit from early physiotherapy.
How is paediatric physio different from adult physio?+
Paediatric physiotherapists use play-based, developmentally appropriate techniques and have specialist knowledge of childhood conditions and motor development milestones.
Will my child need physiotherapy long-term?+
Depends on the condition. Many children complete a course of therapy and are discharged once goals are achieved. Children with ongoing conditions like cerebral palsy may benefit from periodic ongoing support.
Can physio help my child walk better?+
Yes. Gait training is a key part of paediatric physiotherapy. We address the underlying causes of gait problems — muscle weakness, tone, alignment — and retrain movement patterns.
What should my child wear to sessions?+
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows free movement. Bare feet or non-slip socks are ideal for floor-based activities.
