Autism Spectrum Disorder Program

A comprehensive, strengths-based programme for autistic children — combining the full power of our multi-disciplinary team in a coordinated, family-centred approach.

About This Program

Our Approach to Autism Support

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterised by differences in social communication, sensory processing, and patterns of behaviour and interest. It is a spectrum — meaning every autistic person is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, and support needs.

"Autism is not something to be fixed. It is a different way of experiencing the world. Our job is to build bridges — between the child and the environments they need to navigate."

At Little Wings, we take a strengths-based, neuro-affirming approach to autism support. We don't try to 'normalise' autistic children — we help them build the skills, strategies, and self-understanding they need to thrive in a world that is not always designed for them. Our multi-disciplinary ASD programme brings together speech, behaviour, OT, and social skills — all coordinated by one lead therapist.

🌈

Neuro-Affirming

We celebrate neurodiversity. Our programme supports autistic identity while building skills that help children access the world more comfortably.

2
🤝

Multi-Disciplinary

All therapists — speech, behaviour, OT, social skills — work together on one coordinated plan. No silos. No conflicting approaches.

3
👨‍👩‍👧

Family-Led

Families are at the centre of our programme. Parents are trained, informed, and empowered at every stage.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

My child has just been diagnosed — where do we start?+
Start with a comprehensive ASD assessment at our centre. We'll map your child's profile across all areas and build a coordinated plan. You don't need to figure this out alone — we'll guide you every step.
What's the difference between your programme and just seeing individual therapists?+
Our programme is coordinated — all therapists communicate, share a single plan, and work towards the same goals. Seeing individual therapists without coordination often leads to conflicting approaches and fragmented progress.
Is ABA harmful for autistic children?+
Modern, ethical ABA is positive, child-led, and strengths-based — it is not the coercive ABA of the past. We use ABA principles to build skills, reduce distress, and improve quality of life — always within a neuro-affirming framework.
My child is non-verbal. Can you help?+
Absolutely. We have extensive experience with non-verbal and minimally verbal autistic children. We use AAC (picture systems, speech-generating devices, PECS) and focus on functional communication in all its forms.
Do you support the transition to mainstream school?+
Yes. School transition is a key part of our ASD programme. We provide school reports, attend transition meetings, train teachers, and support the child through the adjustment period.
